Valley Residents Young And Old Welcome Rare Snow
DUNNIGAN (CBS13) ―
It snowed in the valley today. It was a rare dusting that covered lawns in Yolo County for the first time in a decade.
"We were really excited. Everyone was screaming there's snow there's snow there's snow," said Leslie Stikes, Dunnigan resident.
Leslie and her brother, Josiah woke up to a winter wonderland for the very first time.
"We wanted to play snowballs so we were playing snowballs it was a lot of fun," said Leslie.
Big kids had fun too.
"I'm all dancing and jumping around. I was like 'Merry Chirstmas'," said Jason Bonderer.
Jason grabbed his video camera to capture a scene that looks like its right out of the sierra. You'd never guess its Dunnigan, elevation 69 feet.

"We were like 'wow'; we could not believe it was snowing all the way down in Dunnigan," said Jason.
On I-5 today, it was a surprising site for drivers along this one mile stretch of snow-covered rooftops. It was a winter white putting green with farm animals surrounded by a ΒΌ inch of fresh powder.
Locals Nick and Jay took the day off to enjoy the rare scene.
"Me and my friend our here drinking a couple brewskis and taking it all in," said Nick. "So, not too cold for beers; not at all."
"We woke up and it was snowing," said Josiah. "It was big flakes, so it was kinda fun."
