Local Muslims Find Miracle Images In Leaf

LODI (CBS13) ― Some local Muslims say a miraculous message has appeared in an unlikely place.

The leaves of a squash plant grown by Mohammed Safdar, a Lodi resident who passed away while making his pilgrimage to Mecca, began displaying some unusual symbols. His son, Rahid, says the markings on the leaves are as clear as day to anyone who knows the ancient Arabic language.

Rahid believes the markings display the symbols for the words Allah and Mohammed, and believes it's the perfect gift left behind by his father.

The Lodi mosque has the leaves framed and is using them in their teachings to young people, calling them a reminder to be close to God and an emphasis on the power of prayer.
