Solar Power Pops Up In New Vacaville Homes
by Naj Alikhan
(CBS13)
A national home builder is bringing a new development to Vacaville that promises to save homeowners up to 70 percent on electric bills. All of the homes in the Encore Community by Meritage community are equipped with solar suntiles. The suntiles blend in seamlessly with the roof and transmit sunlight to an inverter each home.
Energy saving windows are also included, along with high-efficiency appliances and tankless water heaters.
"What we're most excited about is we've taken a lot of products that have been available for a while but we've integrated them with no extra cost as standard features of these homes," said
45 homes are included in the Vacville subdivision. Jacobs says if this community is successful others like it could follow very soon.
