Rancho Cordova Site Of Latest Playground Fire
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (CBS13) ―
An elementary school playground is singed and scorched after a Sunday morning fire broke out, according to authorities.
Authorities said that a rock climbing wall and a bench were damaged when the fire started at Williamson Elementary School on the 2200 block of Benita Drive at around 6:00 a.m.
Firefighters knocked down the fire before it damaged more playground structures damage.
Authorities have not said if they believe the fire was set intentionally.
Parents of Williamson students expressed anger at the thought that this could be the latest in a string of playground arsons in the Sacramento region.
"Kids hang out in the park, they play, and I think that one person probably ruined it for everybody. It really stinks," said John Poulson.
