Proposition 8 Opponents Target Wrong Business
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
A box office backlash has backfired after proposition eight opponents boycotted the wrong business.
The Sacramento Theater Company is being confused with the California Musical Theater. That separate company was blacklisted this week by same-sex marriage supporters. They found out one of the directors gave money supporting prop 8. But, the Sacramento Theater Company is now swamped with calls and e-mails from people promising to pull their ticket subscriptions.
"We share a complex with them," said Mark Standriff of the Sacramento Theater Company. "Nine months out of the year, it's Sacramento Theater Company, and for three months it's Musical Circus, so I think that's where some of the mistaken identity comes from."
Proposition eight protestors are boycotting several businesses all tied to proposition eight donations.
