Woman Pleads Guilty To Murdering Husband
EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. (CBS13) ―
Patricia "Patty" Presba, an El Dorado County woman who was suspected of murdering her husband, Ronald, pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree murder.
Ronald was reported missing on June 24, 2008 by Patty. El Dorado County authorities found his burned-out vehicle at the bottom of a ravine hours later while responding to a wildfire, presumably sparked by the fire in his SUV.
The case took a turn when on July 24, a friend reported Patty missing from her home in Georgetown, an enclave in the Sierra foothills northeast of Sacramento. She was spotted the next day in Salt Lake City by state investigators with another suspect, Jaime Ramos, in a motel parking lot.
Patty was arrested and extradited back to California.
Her next hearing is scheduled for March 5, 2010.
