Prank 911 Call Leads To Drug, Gun Cache
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
A prank 911 call led to police busting a drug and weapons cache in a parolee's home, according to authorities.
A 911 hang-up call from the 5-year-old child of Lamescha Zachary and Lebarron Davis exposed something very unusual inside their home on Arbusto Circle.
"When the dispatcher called back, they could hear a child in the background, and the child's laughing, just talking about calling 911," said Officer Konrad Von Scheoch of the Sacramento Police Department.
Sacramento police knocked on their door Sunday morning to make sure everything was okay.
"Once the officers arrived they learned that one of the residents was on probation," Von Scheoch said.
Inside the house, police found nine pounds of packaged pot, a pound of cocaine, several guns, and around $7,500 in cash. Authorities arrested the couple for selling drugs, all thanks to a prank 911 call from their own child.
The five-year-old child and another one-year-old child are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
