'Polite' Robber Hits Five Stores In Eight Days
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Authorities are searching for a "polite" armed robber that has hit five restaurants and stores in eight days and left behind a written excuse for his crimes.
Surveillance video of the Papa Murphy's on Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento shows a man walking up to the cash register and passing a note to the cashier. The suspect allegedly wrote that he had fallen on hard times, and demanded money.
The cashier complied, and the suspect took off running with $500, according to employee Ron Constant.
No gun was seen at that robbery, but police say he used a firearm at least four other times. Since November 10, the suspect has robbed pizza joints, restaurants and a Walgreens in the Sacramento area, each time handing over the note.
"Maybe he was trying to feed a family, but he's robbing a lot of places, so I highly doubt that," Constant said. "He's just trying to make a buck."
Police have released photos from surveillance footage from one of the robberies, and are encouraging anyone with information on the suspect to call authorities.
