Off Duty Police Officer Hits Man On Bicycle

ROCKLIN (CBS13) ― An elderly man is recovering this afternoon after he was hit by a motorcyclist driven by an off-duty motorcycle.

The elderly man was riding his bicycle at the time of the accident.  Officials say the off-duty officer was on his way to work riding along Pacific Street in Rocklin when the man turned in front of him.

The 79-year-old bicyclist suffered minor head injuries and was treated at the scene.

He's expected to make a full recovery.  The motorcylist is a police officer for the city of Elk Grove.
