Explosive Fire Burns Placer County Barn

NEWCASTLE (CBS13) ― Extra fire crews were called out to quickly douse a large barn fire in Placer County this morning before winds could spread the flames to nearby homes.

The fire destroyed a barn in Newcastle on Ridge Lane near Highway 193.
 
The homeowner awoke to an orange glow shining in their bedroom window and quickly got everyone out of the home.

Fire fighters were able to stop the flames from jumping to the home, but were unable to save the barn and its contents inclucing a classic car.

There are no reports of injuries.
 
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Sacramento Valley today.
