Freight Train Derailment Disrupts Amtrak Service

PITTBURGH (CBS13/AP) ― A freight train has come off the tracks in Pittsburg at the San Joaquin County and Contra Costa County line.

Twelve cars derailed near Harbor Street and the Pittsburg-Antioch Freeway, according to Contra Costa Fire.

The train derailment has disrupted Amtrak service in the San Joaquin Valley.

Five eastbound and five westbound trains are affected.

Amtrak is busing passengers between Stockton and Martinez in both directions throughout the day.
