Maze: Pets Don't Belong In The Drivers Seat
SACRAMENTO (AP) ―
A state lawmaker wants motorists to stop driving with a pet on their lap.
Republican Assemblyman Bill Maze says he doesn't have anything against pets. He just doesn't think they belong in the driver's seat.
Maze has a bill to be considered his week that would make it an infraction for someone to drive with an animal in their arms or lap.
A recent triple-A study ranked pets and loose objects as a bigger distraction for drivers than cell phone use, eating and drinking.
