Paradise Cheerleader Coach Jailed In Fondling Case

PARADISE (AP) ― A former community cheerleading coach has been sentenced to jail after pleading no contest in a case that arose from the alleged fondling of a teenage boy.

Toni Rae Allexy of Paradise received 90 days in jail and four years' probation after entering the plea to endangering a child's health. In exchange, Butte County prosecutors dropped the fondling charge.

The 39-year-old also was charged with providing alcohol to two 14-year-old boys and two 13-year-old girls at her home in October. Allexy was coaching the girls' Paradise Junior Football League cheerleading squad.

Prosecutors say she got drunk and fondled one boy as she drove the teens home. The boy told a judge he has been depressed and was beaten up after he came forward with his complaint.

Allexy is being treated for substance abuse. She denies wrongdoing other than driving while drunk.
