Arson Being Investigated In Natomas Home Fire

NATOMAS (CBS13) ― Arson investigators are in Natomas after two homes caught fire early this morning.

The homes went up in flames on Haggin Avenue near El Camino and Northgate Boulevard just north of the Garden Highway just before six this morning.

When fire crews arrived, one of the homes was already fully engulfed in flames.  Crews attempted to stop the fire from spreading to nearby homes but flames jumped to an abandoned home behind the first house.

Fire fighters say the first home is a complete loss but there is only minor damage to the second home.

Crews say the fire is suspicious but have not released any other information.

Fire fighters are dealing with gusty winds in this fire.  The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect until 5:00pm Thursday.
