Mother's Day Births, A Special Gift For Local Moms
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Did you agonize over what to get the special woman in your life for Mother's Day? Some local mothers got the ultimate gift on Mother's Day.
"This is our first baby," said Irene Rodriguez.
Little Itzel's arrival has new mom Irene Rodriguez feeling like she's living a dream. "It's an amazing feeling," she said. "I don't think you know until you have a baby how special it is."
Mother's Day is always special at Sutter Hospital. Musicians were even brought in for the day to treat the new moms to a serene setting.
"It's their day to be honored and they have a new baby to enjoy the day with," said Beth Reed from the hospital.
Another baby, Nicholas, wasn't due for a week, but decided to make an early appearance, making sure his birthday will stand out from his brothers'.
His mom, Svetlana, relishes the moment of calm. "Child number 6 and the 6th boy," she said. She enjoys what many consider to be one of the most challenging but best jobs in the world.
"One day, they finally get recognized for all the work they do all year long," said Beth.
