Asking Questions, Getting Answers From Mayor Fargo

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― "I'm very excited about the race," says Mayor Heather Fargo.

We caught up with Mayor Heather Fargo at a Clinton event this afternoon to ask her about her own campaign, which she'll focus on economic recovery, flood protection, and progress.

"A lot of projects (are) underway and we want to complete them. From K Street to the rail yards," says Fargo.

We also wanted to hear from Fargo about two possible opponents, who've hinted they might challenge her.

CBS13 has confirmed that former NBA all star Kevin Johnson is seriously considering a run, according to a local consultant he's working with. And long-time lawmaker Willie Brown chatted about it on the radio. But a source close to him, in Sacramento today for the Clinton event, thought we were joking when we asked about it.

"Oh my gosh! Are you kidding? I was with him yesterday. He's a mentor and I have not heard that," explains Gavin Tape.

San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, says Brown has a home in San Francisco and is busy promoting his new book, so he thinks it's unlikely.

Newsom also said that if Brown was anything, he is unpredictable. But Brown would have to meet some deadlines coming up next week, if he's really thinking about running.
