Man Lying In Street Hit And Killed By Car

A man was killed early this morning in east Sacramento after being run over by a car.

Police say the victim, a 21-year-old, was lying in the middle of the road on 39th near Folsom Boulevard.

They don't know how long he'd been lying there but around 5:00 this morning, a man driving with his mother ran the victim over.

He told police he didn't see the man.

Investigators found a wine bottle near the body but haven't said whether the victim may have been drunk.

39th Street was closed as police investigated.
