Make-A-Wish Gives Boy, 5, A Unique Gift
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) ―
A local boy suffering from a life-threatening disease got the ride of his life when the Make-A-Wish foundation surprised him with his own train.
Five-year-old Tyler from Rancho Cordova is suffering from Hirschsprung's Disease, a disease that afflicts the large intestine. His parents say it's been a rough ride for him.
"In the last six months he's had three surgeries," Janel said. "We've been in and out of the hospital."
Thanks to the United Healthcare Group and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Tyler is getting a unique gift. A model train, big enough to seat two, winds around the family's property, and Tyler gets to be the engineer.
"It's the kind of thing that we love to do," said Joani Johnson from Make-A-Wish. "This is clearly the wish for Tyler; there is no doubt about it."
Tyler's parents hope the Tyler Express will help in the healing process and get his life back on track.
