Large Hay Fire Near Lodi May Burn For Days
ACAMPO (CBS13) ―
A large hay fire is burning near Lodi and may continue to burn for days.
The broke out around 1:00 am this morning in 100 by 15-foot pile of hay. The fire also damaged a nearby tractor.
It's happening in Acampo just off Highway 99 between Jahant and Peltier roads.
Fire crews have it contained, but say it's going to keep burning for awhile. And because of the location, they are keeping an extra cautious approach.
"We're on the property of the Lodi gas storage company," said San Joaquin County Fire Capt. Steve Butler. "Gas lines are underground, but we don't expect them to be affected at all."
No injuries have been reported and the cause is still under investigation.
