Suspect In Lake Natoma Beating Case In Court Today

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A major break in the case of the brutal beating death of Satendar Singh at Lake Natoma.

Sheriffs have identified the main suspect as Andrey Yusik who they believe has fled to Russia.

An alleged accomplice, Aleksandr Shevchenko was arrested on Monday and is expected to appear in court today..

Singh was hit on the head during a fight at Lake Natoma and died in the hospital from his injuries.

Singh's grandmother says she still can't understand why this happened.

Investigators are working with Russian authorities on Yusik's extradition.

Those close to the other suspect, Alex Shevchenco say his arrest must've been a mistake.

22-year old Shevchenco works in construction and has eight brothers and sisters.

His family members say the allegations are simply out of character.
