Sac State Chidren's Center Employee Has Meningitis

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A part-time employee at Sacramento State's campus Children's Center was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

The Children's Center says that they learned of the illness on Monday morning and contacted parents of the children and employees of the Center.

Staff say that the children had only minimal contact with the staffer, who was assigned to duties in the front office.

The children are being watched closely for symptoms of the illness which include high fever, headache, a stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, confusion, and sleepiness.

The staffer is now in the hospital and is responding well to treatments, according to physicians.
