A local mother and her 14-year-old son are two of the lucky few who received tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Debra Pughsley, 36, beat out more than a million and a half fans registered for a chance to attend Tuesday's Michael Jackson memorial -- one of only 8,750 names randomly chosen.
"[The e-mail] said Staples Center, and I pulled it up, and it said congrats, and you won the lottery for the Michael Jackson memorial tickets," Debra said. "I have been a huge Michael Jackson fan; my oldest son was born on his birthday."
Debra says she's thrilled to take her 14-year-old son to Dodger Stadium to pass along her love of the King of Pop.
"I had every Thriller, Beat It jacket, every glove," she said.
On eBay, bids for the memorial tickets are reaching as high as $3,000, and Craigslist is seeing similar prices, but Debra can't even imagine passing on the opportunity to say goodbye to her childhood idol.
"It's going to be very exciting, almost like a celebration, yet very emotional, very sad," she said.
