ORLANDO, Fl. (WKMG-TV ) ―
It's a story that made national headlines: The search for a missing three-year-old Florida girl, named Caylee Anthony. Her mother is jailed and charged with lying to police. Now, Sacramento bounty hunter, Leonard Padilla is getting involved.
Padilla says he will be bailing out the girl's mother. He's flying to Florida to post the her half million dollar bond.
Earlier today, Casey Anthony's mother met with investigators at the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Leonard Padilla is known for his big black cowboy hat and glasses, now he could be known as the man who sprung Casey Anthony from jail.
Padilla says he's been talking to Casey Anthony's attorney about bailing her out. He admits he is not a bail agent, but his nephew is and is taking care of the bond.
Padilla says he wanted to arrange this because he can get the truth out of the young mother. He believes it's likely she'll tell him what happened to her missing daughter Caylee once he's watching over her.
Padilla says there is a possibility they'll stay ay Casey's parents house. However, Padilla tells us he has not talked to the family yet. Instead, all of this is being discussed through Casey's attorney Jose Baez.
If staying at the family's home to monitor Casey is not agreeable to the family, Padilla says he has a back up plan to stay at a home in an undisclosed location in Orlando.
Home confinement is a term of Casey's release. She is also required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
