Kevin Johnson Responds To Federal Investigation

Sacramento mayoral candidate Kevin Johnson responded publicly for the first time today about the federal investigation into allegations he touched a 17-year old girl inappropriately.

Federal authorities are probing the allegation because it was reported at Saint Hope, a school that receives federal money.

A local police investigation concluded that no crimes occurred.

Johnson spoke about the federal investigation at a campaign stop today. "I think we're fully embracing the investigation and I think St. Hope has nothing to hide," he said.

"We're going to cooperate fully and look forward to hearing the findings," he added. "I feel very confident about our standing."

CBS13 has learned that St. Hope failed to report the allegation to federal authorities when it was first made a year ago. Administrators at St. Hope have not explained why.
