Downed Power Lines Trigger El Dorado Co. Fire
EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) ―
Firefighters are battling a wildfire in El Dorado County that was sparked by some downed power lines.
The fire broke out just before 8:00am this morning near Garden Valley which is south of Georgetown in El Dorado County.
A column of dark smoke could be seen from the CBS13 camera mounted on Bald Mountain near Georgetown.
The fire is burning near Johntown Creek Road off Marshall Road.
Fire officials say the fire was triggered by downed power lines and about a quarter acre has burned so far.
