Missing Hunter Found In Sequoia National Forest

FRESNO (AP) ― Rescue workers from two counties have found a 27-year-old hunter who went missing in Sequoia National Forest.

Salvador Sanchez of Orosi had hiked off with another man toward Deer Meadow at about 5 p.m. Saturday to look for potential hunting locations while a third man stayed with their vehicle. The two hikers became separated and Sanchez never returned.

The Fresno County sheriff's office says Sanchez was found near Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon National Park at about 2 p.m. on Monday.

Sanchez was wearing a jacket and carried a cell phone and rifle, but did not have food or water. He was not injured, but was hungry and tired.
