Local Hmong Leader Shot And Killed Outside Office

STOCKTON (CBS13) ― A well-respected leader and longtime advocate for Hmong and other Southeast Asian refugees is dead after being shot Wednesday outside his north Stockton office.

Pheng Lo, who for more than 20 years led the Stockton-based Lao Family Community, was found outside the agency's Hammer Lane office around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday with a gunshot wound to the head, according to an early police account. He was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Stockton Police Department has asked that anyone with information on the crime call (209) 937-8377.
