Two Accidents Snarl Morning Commute On Highway 99

TURLOCK (CBS13) ― Two separate and serious accidents snarled the morning commute on Highway 99 in the valley and left at least one person dead.

The first accident happened on southbound Highway 99 south of Turlock near the Stanislaus-Merced county line.

According to some witnesses the vehicle went off the highway and caught fire. At least one person was killed. 

The second accident also happened in the southbound direction of Highway 99 in the Ceres area.
 
A big rig and smaller vehicle collided near Keyes Road between Ceres and Turlock 

The car flipped over trapping at least one person inside. There were injuries reported but it's unclear how serious. Traffic was backed up for quite some times while the accidents were cleared.
