Highway 12 Reopened After Chemical Spill

CORDELIA (CBS13) ― A major road closure and sig alert was issued this morning in Solano County following a chemical spill.

Highway 12 through Jameson Canyon was until noon today after a truck carrying chemical pesticide flipped over near the connection with I-80 and Red Top Road in Cordelia.

The chemical mixed with rainwater to create a hazmat incident. Also, a 450 foot perimeter was cleared around the crash and nearby residents were told to stay in their homes as a precaution.

Highway 12 is a narrow, winding two lane road, but usually gets a lot of morning traffic and frequently becomes a traffic bottleneck.

Traffic was routed onto Highway 37.
