Man Arrested In Fatal Gold River Stabbing

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) ― A man is behind bars after a deadly stabbing in a quiet Sacramento County neighborhood.

The trouble started just after 3:00am at a home in the 11,000 block of Prospect Hill Drive in Gold River.

Deputies were called to an area near Prospect Hill Park.  When they arrived, a 22-year-old man was lying in the road, a victim of a stab wound.

"The suspect still had the knife in his hand immediately put it down and surrendered," said

The suspect is 32-year-old Daniel Ortega.  Detectives believe Ortega and his wife knew the victim. Detectives are trying to link Ortega, his wife and the victim, determining what the relationship was between the three of them.

Investigators have not released the name of the victim. However, they are saying he's a man in his early 20's.
