Garbeau's Dinner Theater Fighting Final Curtain
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
A well-known Sacramento area dinner theater is fighting to stay open despite facing their final curtain.
Garbeau's Dinner Theater has been entertaining audiences for 27 years. But the theater has been hit hard by the economic downturn. Garbeau's owners say they have tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a rent reduction from their landlord.
Now Garbeau's is launching a last ditch fundraising effort. "We are asking everyone who wants to see Garbeau's stay in business to buy a season pass or gift card of any amount from $5 to $5,000," said Garbeau's CEO Mark Ferreira in a press release.
People who purchase season passes will not be left empty-handed if the fund-raising campaign does not succeed. Garbeau's website lists a number of regional theatre companies who have pledged to honor Garbeau's season passes if the theater ends up closing.
