Big Rig Carrying French Fries Catches Fire
SUTTER COUNTY (CBS13) ―
A big rig carrying 42,000 pounds of frozen french fries caught fire in Sutter County this morning causing some lane closures.
It happened on Highway 99 at Powerline Road.
Officials first though the truck was trying to brake when its wheels caught fire and spread to the trailer. But they now say the trucks refrigeration unit sparked the blaze.
The truck was carrying steak fries for Red Robin restaurants.
No one was hurt.
