Foothill High School Cafeteria Passes Inspection
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
A Sacramento County high school cafeteria had been shut down after county health inspectors found live and dead cockroaches in the kitchen. Now, the cafeteria has officially passed inspection with no more traces of infestation.
According to the Sacramento County Environmental Management Department, the cafeteria kitchen at Foothill High School
failed an inspection on Wednesday and had been closed.
The department sent an inspector to the school after a complaint was made. The inspector found three live cockroaches and three dead cockroaches under the dish washing sink near the pizza oven.
Sacramento County's website says the school violated the code 23: No rodents, insects, bird, or animals. There were also 'gaps' in the wall that need to be sealed.
The school says it has monthly pest control.
Two Rivers School District sent out a recorded message to Foothill High School parents saying that the school kitchen would be closed so it could be cleaned, and said that only cold lunches would be served today.
After a 2 p.m. inspection of the school cafeteria by the County Health Inspectors today, officials posted a flyer saying the cafeteria has now passed inspection and no more traces of infestation could be found.
