New Dealership Opens On Florin Road
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Some of Florin Road's car lots look a lot like ghost towns these days, but Sacramento Hyundai is making a multi-million dollar bet that now is the time to jump-start a new business.
Even with car sales plummeting and the credit crunch that's keeping some of the few prospective car buyers locked out, a new dealership will be opening at the lot that used to be Senator Hyundai.
"The timing is everything and we think the timing is good for our product at this point," said Kevin Kolb.
Some Hyundai models sell for a lot less than other new cars; one model checks out at around $12,000. With fewer Hyundai dealerships in the region, they're hoping for more customers and more sales in the cutthroat business that forced Senator Hyundai to shut down in the same spot.
"Obviously, there's always apprehensions when you're doing something like this, but we've done so much research and knowing the product," Kolb said.
The dealership is open for business, but is planning for a grand opening sometime in November.
