Large Blaze Forces Closure Of Hwy. 160
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Two local firefighters were rushed to the hospital overcome by heat while fighting a fire near a bike train in Sacramento at Northgate Blvd. and Del Paso Blvd.
When firefighters arrived, dry brush and trees were burning. It took help from several fire agencies to get the fire under control.
A combination of heat from the fire and triple digit temperatures caused two firefighters to become overcome by heat exhaustion.
Highway 160 was temporarily closed due to drifting smoke.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
