Father Commits Suicide After Shooting Son

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A father shot and killed himself after shooting his teenage son multiple times in their front yard, according to authorities.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to reports of a shooting on 44th Avenue Wednesday afternoon, finding a 16-year-old teen lying in a front yard. He had been shot multiple times, but was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies found the boy's 54-year-old father dead inside the house, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The father and son had reportedly been arguing before the shooting took place. Investigators have not released the identity of either person yet.
