Police believe that a man killed in a Contra Costa County car crash was street racing with another vehicle at the time.
The crash occurred yesterday afternoon in Hercules at the intersection of Palm and Sycamore avenues.
Police say the driver of a red Chevrolet Camaro was racing a sedan when he crashed into a high-voltage power pole, knocking the pole almost onto the road.
Police have not identified the driver of the Camaro, who was found dead in his car.
Investigators are looking for the sedan that took part in the street race: possibly a newer model four-door Nissan Sentra.
