Man Killed While Welding Explosive Device

WILTON (CBS13) ― A man was killed by an explosion on his property late Saturday night, according to authorities.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says that the 48-year-old victim severely injured in the blast on Peach Lane in Wilton. Authorities have not said what materials were used in the explosion, but believe that the victim did not have any criminal intentions.

The victim was apparently welding when the explosion occurred.

The victim has not been identified.
