An escaped inmate is still on the loose a day after escaping from a Tuolumne County prison.

35-year-old George Landecho Lopez escaped from the Sierra Conservation Center yesterday afternoon.

Lopez was last seen around 2:45pm while working outside of the prison gates in the facility's carpentry shop.

He was wearing a green jumpsuit and has scars on his right arm, right forearm and right eye.

Lopez was serving a five year sentence for possession of a firearm by an ex-felon and failure to appear in court.

Lopez is originally from Tehama County.
