El Dorado Co. Fire Burns More Than 30 Acres

Fire Not Yet Fully Contained

RESCUE (CBS13) ― High winds fanned a fire in El Dorado County that has consumed more than 30 acres and has yet to be fully contained. Fire crews responded to the site near the city of Rescue, where the blaze started in a deep valley, catching alight both grass and heavy timber.

As night fell, the winds died down and the temperatures cooled, making it easier for firefighters to ensure that the fire did not damage any nearby structures, some of which are as close as a quarter of a mile from the edge of the flames.

More than 25 engines responded to the fire. No injuries have been reported.
