Deaf Boxer Puppy Stolen From Placer SPCA
PLACER (CBS13) ―
A very special puppy was stolen from the Placer SPCA today and now the organization is asking for help from the public to find him.
The puppy, named "Dodger" by the staff, is an affectionate six-month-old with special needs. Dodger is deaf. He arrived at the shelter last week as a stray with his sister. SPCA CEO Leilani Vierra talked about his arrival.
"The minute I walked by his kennel I knew he was special" said Vierra. She introduced the dog to the Placer SPCA Humane Educator as a possible new adoptee.
"I was planning on training him in sign language and using him in the classroom to teach lessons about overcoming adversity and compassion and respect for all life. Now it seems he's may possibly be facing even greater adversity," said Mary Terrell Mary, SPCA Humane Educator.
Placer SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward information leading to Dodger's safe return. You can contact the SPCA at (916) 782-7722 x105 or the Roseville Police Department at 774-5000.
