Family Of Slain Modesto Man Looking For Answers

MODESTO (CBS13) ― It has been more than a year since a Modesto father of three lost his life. Today, his family spoke out for the first time today about the crime and life without Chris Sisk.

A composite sketch of the suspect was released this week in the murder of Chris Sisk nearly a year and a half ago.

Sisk's family has been waiting and waiting for the composite to be released. The Modesto Police Department says they were using it to verify whether leads they received were credible.

A 31-year-old father of three, Sisk, had stopped for coffee at a Modesto market in May 2007 when a man got into his tow truck to steal it. Sisk ran out to stop him but fell off the moving truck, and was run over. The truck was found abandoned just an hour later. The suspect was never found.

Meanwhile, Modesto police won't comment on what else they're working with, including any DNA evidence or what kind of tips they've received. But they confirmed that surveillance video exists, although it hasn't been released to the public.

Costco, where Chris' wife Marilou worked, has offered a $20,000 reward in the case. Crime Stoppers has offered another thousand. But, through detective Jon Evers, the family is asking Governor Schwarzenegger for another $50,000 to ad to the reward. They're concerned their case may not be high-profile enough to get the attention and money that's needed to solve the crime.

I you have any information in the case, please contact the Modesto police department at 209-572-9551
