Police Officer Wounded In Shooting

COLUSA (CBS13) ― A Colusa County Sheriff's Sergeant is in the hospital after being wounded during a shootout.

Sergeant Mark Troughton was responding to a domestic dispute just north of Colusa. When he arrived, someone opened and struck him in the arm, also wounding a woman in the leg.

The gunman fled, but minutes later deputies arrested a suspect, 25-year-old Richard Marez.

Troughton is hospitalized in good condition.
