Fill-in Coast Guard air crews from across the country are standing-in at the Sacramento Coast Guard air station allowing planes to continue flying and local Coast Guard crews time to mourn.
Coast Guard crews from all over the country are coming to Sacramento to help fill in on airborne duty after last week's midair collision off the coast of San Diego claimed the lives of seven Coast Guard members based in Sacramento.
The fill-in crew is from Barber's Point Hawaii.
"There's time to think about what happened and there's time to take care of business," said U.S. Coast Guard Lt. John Scrivener.
A memorial service for the seven crew members is planned for Friday.
