OROVILLE (AP) ― A Butte County jury has found a 46-year-old man guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his wife more than eight years ago.A Butte County jury has found a 46-year-old man guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his wife more than eight years ago.

Clinton Egbert of Chico faces up to 40 years to life in prison for killing Tami Egbert, whose body was found on Feb. 19, 2000, at the bottom of an elevated roadway.

An autopsy found she had been shot to death. But police could not find evidence of a shooting or link her death to any of the weapons found in the Chico home she shared with Clinton Egbert or those found at his brother's.

New witnesses implicated Egbert two years ago and police uncovered two additional bullet holes in a sweat shirt found near her body.
