Woman Killed By Cement Truck In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Sacramento police are investigating a fatal accident where a woman was killed by a cement truck while walking across a downtown Sacramento street.
The accident happened near the corner of Broadway Avenue and 35th Street in Sacramento at about 8:50am this morning.
Sacramento police cordoned off the area while they investigated.
Officials believe the driver of a concrete truck working in the area struck the woman whose body was found just outside the crosswalk.
"We have several people come forward say they saw body in the roadway after collision. But at this point in time we have nobody that has come forward has actually witnessed the collision," said Sacramento Police officer Steve Womack.
Investigators believe the partially loaded cement truck was driving westbound on Broadway when it turned northbound on to 35th Street.
The driver of the truck was questioned. The victim's identity has not been released.
