Obama Campaign Signs Destroyed In Carmichael
CARMICHAEL (CBS13) ―
Authorities are investigating vandalism in a Carmichael neighborhood that targeted Barack Obama campaign signs and left behind anti-Democrat flyers.
The signs for the Barack Obama-Joe Biden campaign were torn down overnight on Stanley Avenue and flung away. Neighbors woke up to find the scattered signs, plus flyers bearing an "ideological rant" stapled to objects all around the neighborhood.
Neighbors aren't sure who the suspects are, but they have their suspicions.
"Could be somebody here is actually what I was thinking," said Kamal Khara, a Carmichael resident. "I hate to say that."
With just weeks away from electing a new president, neighbors are concerned similar actions could play out locally or nationally.
"I think that people are heated up about it, and I hope that people will allow others to say what they want to," Khara said.
Police are investigating the incident.
