Pennies Trigger Bomb Scare At City Hall

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A bomb scare forced the evacuation of Sacramento City Hall after a suspicious package was left at a desk, according to authorities.

Police were called after someone dropped off a package wrapped in duct tape at a security counter. Bomb squad technicians looked inside the package with an x-ray machine and discovered that the package was filled with hundreds of pennies.

Authorities believe the man who dropped the package off was trying to pay a bill.
