Undercover Drug Bust Nets Modesto H.S. Students

MODESTO (AP) ―

The Modesto Police Department hauled off four high school students from their classrooms at Beyer High School this morning and arrested them on drug various drug charges.

The teens were arrested as part of an on-going investigation that used undercover officer posing as a students on campus at Beyer HIgh.  Modesto police say that officer was able to purchase illegal drugs from the students including during school hours. 

Police say the students sold a wide variety of illegal drugs including vicodin, marijuana, prescription medication, and a drug similar to ecstacy.

All four are 17-years-old and have been booked into the Stanislaus County Juvenile Detention Center.

Modesto Police Chief Roy Wasden said in a statement released today, "The Modesto Police Department is committed to keeping our schools safe and will conduct operations to arrest those responsible for distributing drugs on campus.  We will continue to work closely with Modesto City Schools to ensure that those who are drug involved are brought to justice and given the help that they need".

Police started the investigation after getting reports of drugs being sold on campus.  Police anticipate even more arrests as the investigation goes on.
