UCD Professor Offers Beer For A Butterfly

DAVIS (CBS13) ― Catch a butterfly and get some beer. But not just any butterfly.

For the 38th year in a row, Professor Arthur Shapiro will buy a pitcher of beer for the first person who brings him a Cabbage White Butterfly.

The butterfly is said to be one of the best long term subjects to study to impact of climate change on biology.

The White Cabbage usually comes out between January 1st and February 22nd.
 
If you catch one, make sure it's alive and bring it to the receptionist at the UC Davis Ecology Department.
